About Us

Founded in 1996, Ehaus is an independent web design and development company, offering high quality web design and development services, content management systems and online e-commerce shopping systems. We are based in Shepherds Bush in West London, UK.

Company History

We first began to provide commercial web services with the launch of The Book Pl@ce, an online bookshop built around the Book Data (now Nielsen Bookdata) bibliographic database and system software developedin house.

Replying to demand from the market for cost-efficient and reliable web solutions for the book trade, Ehaus developed The Book Pl@ce system software for use as the backbone for a growing family of individually branded websites designed for publishers which shared a core functionality.

As our reputation grew, so did demand for specialist online books services from the industry. In developing websites for a diverse range of customers, the palette of software solutions and services offered by Ehaus grew, as did its client list, which included not only publishers but booksellers, library suppliers and High Street retailers.

This breadth of experience in developing web applications with large data sets, led to an expansion into areas outside of the book trade.

In April 2004, Ehaus left the Nielsen Bookdata family, following a management buy out, the newly independent company then relocated to North Kensington.

The company later secured investment from Bibliographic Data Services (BDS), the UK's leading supplier of bibliographic information to libraries and in 2009 re-located once again, this time to Shepherds Bush in West London.
